The short version: your floor and the ratings RatingFloor learns never leave your device. There's no account, no IP logging, and it never sees your viewing. The only thing it can send is an anonymous, aggregate, opt-out usage count — turn it off in one click.
Your rating floor, behaviour settings, chosen language and the per-title ratings RatingFloor reads from the page are stored locally with the browser's extension storage (chrome.storage.local). They are never uploaded.
RatingFloor reads the maturity rating that the streaming site (Netflix) already loaded for the titles on your screen — from the page's own data and any rating badge it renders. It makes no external API calls and looks nothing up about you. Everything it knows about a title, it learned from a page you were already viewing.
If "Share anonymous stats" is on (default), roughly once per browsing session the extension sends a single snapshot to ratingfloor.zlef.fr/api/collect containing:
That's the complete payload. It does not include any account or identifier, your IP is not stored, and it never contains title names, URLs, viewing history or anything about what you watch. The numbers are aggregated per day and published openly at /api/stats.
Open the popup and switch off "Share anonymous stats". Nothing is sent from then on, and any pending counters are dropped.
